Cats – My Origin Story: A Lifelong Love for Rescue Cats and Feline Companionship
Cats have always been a beautiful and meaningful part of my life. Their gentle nature, unconditional companionship, and unique personalities make them a wonderful addition to any family. Cats are incredible listeners, comforting companions, playful friends, and loving members of the household. For me, that special bond began during my earliest childhood memories.
My love for cats was inspired by my mother, a deeply compassionate woman who dedicated her heart to every cat she welcomed into her home. She didn’t just care for cats—she truly understood them. Every feline she rescued received patience, kindness, and unconditional love.
Growing up, my family had a habit of helping any cat in need. Whenever we found an injured, abandoned, or vulnerable cat, we brought them home and worked together to help them heal. In 2000, my beloved grandmother was battling cancer. We shared a close and loving relationship, and my children were also deeply attached to her. I knew that saying goodbye would be incredibly difficult for our entire family.

Finding My Second Ragdoll Kitten: How MacIntosh Stole My Heart
One week after bringing home Bailey, my beloved Seal Mitted Ragdoll kitten, I received a surprising call from the breeder. He asked if I would consider meeting another Ragdoll kitten who was still looking for his forever home.
The breeder explained that this little Ragdoll boy was the last kitten available from the litter. He was considered the “runt” of the group and there was a concern that he might have a “lazy eye.” However, as it turned out, his eye was perfectly healthy, and that early concern was never an issue.
At first, I wasn’t sure if adopting another Ragdoll kitten was the right decision. My home was already busy with two young children, my home-based business, a rescued cat, and my new Ragdoll kitten, Bailey. I wondered how I could possibly make room for another feline family member.
Still, I agreed to visit the cattery—just to meet him and be polite.
That visit changed everything.
The moment I met this sweet little bundle of Ragdoll fluff, he completely captured my heart. His gentle personality, adorable face, and affectionate nature made it impossible to leave him behind.
What was supposed to be a simple visit turned into another life-changing adoption. I left the cattery with a second Ragdoll kitten by my side.
His name was MacIntosh.

Ragdoll Cats – Eternal Kittens: A Lifetime of Love, Care, and Companionship
Throughout every stage of my cats’ lives, I have dedicated myself to learning what helps Ragdoll cats thrive, from improving their overall health and happiness to supporting a long, fulfilling life. These gentle, loving companions have always been a source of comfort and joy, and I have been fortunate to experience the incredible bond that exists between cats and their humans.
My first Ragdoll cats, Bailey and MacIntosh, shared 16 wonderful years with our family. They were everything people love about the Ragdoll cat breed—affectionate, gentle, loyal, and deeply connected to the people around them. Over the years, we also welcomed several rescue cats into our home, and Bailey and MacIntosh graciously accepted each new feline family member.
Even as they grew older, our family always called them “The Kittens.” They kept a youthful spirit throughout their lives and continued to bring the same playful energy, sweetness, and affection they had as young Ragdoll kittens. Their loving personalities made them feel like kittens forever, even during their senior years.
Sadly, after 16 beautiful years together, I lost both of my beloved Ragdoll “Kittens” within six months of each other. During that same time, we also said goodbye to their 21-year-old rescue sister. Both Bailey and MacIntosh passed peacefully in my arms, surrounded by love.
Losing them was one of the most heartbreaking experiences I have ever faced. Anyone who has shared their life with a beloved cat understands the deep grief that comes with losing a cherished companion. Their absence left a huge emptiness in our home, which was now shared only with one remaining rescue cat.
For almost a year, I convinced myself that I would never adopt another Ragdoll cat. The love and connection I had experienced with Bailey and MacIntosh were so special that I feared I could never go through that heartbreak again. Their personalities, affection, and devotion had made them irreplaceable.
Then one morning, everything changed.
After a peaceful night’s sleep, I woke up with a completely different feeling. I sat up and knew in my heart: “I am going to do this again. I’m going to be a Ragdoll momma again.”
That decision began a new chapter in my journey as a Ragdoll cat owner. After extensive research, conversations with breeders, emails, and countless hours learning more about responsible Ragdoll adoption, I found the right breeder for my family.
On May 25, 2017, I became the proud momma of two beautiful, loving Ragdoll cats once again.
